UPSC has now decided that provisional answer will be released soon after the Civil Service Prelims Examination. Till now the recruitment of the answer for the prelims examination was released after completion. It used to take about 1 year. The Commission has now decided to release the answer of prelims before the mens.
Student questioned in townhall
Last week, the UPSC had town the first time in which questions were taken from students across the country. Meanwhile, a student questioned why the answer is not released only after prelims.
Chairman Ajay Kumar had said in response that the answer is released after the recruitment is released as it takes a long time. In such a situation, there is no need to release the answer along with prelims. However, now the Commission has agreed to this.
This information has been given by the UPSC in the affidavit filed in the Supreme Court. The current policy of UPSC was challenged in the court. In response, the Commission has filed this affidavit.
The commission had said- this will delay the result
In its affidavit filed on May 13 during the hearing of the case, UPSC had said that if this suggestion is implemented, it could have an opposite effect and this will increase uncertainty and delay in the examination process.
But in the new affidavit filed on September 20, the Commission said, “During the hearing of the petition, the UPSC considered various aspects, and after doing intensive analysis, it has been decided that the provisional answer will be released after conducting the preliminary examination.”
The Commission also said that objections and suggestions will also be sought from the candidates on the provisional answer key. Candidates will be able to register objections with at least 3 evidences. Objections registered without proof will be rejected immediately. Final answer will be released after considering all objections. The result of the qualified candidates for the men’s will be based on the final answer.
UPSC first did Townhall
UPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar talked directly to Civil Service Aspirants across the country through Virtual Town Hall. The townhall was done only in Hindi language. In this, Chairman Ajay Kumar answered many questions.

Question 1 – Why are questions dropped by paper?
The paper setting is very large exercise. Questions do not make officers but make subject experts. The tears check the other experts and then put in the paper. It happens that we get to know that the question that the question maker can also be another aspect of the set of mind from which the paper made. In this case, 2 different panels check it. Then if there are 2 interpretations of a question, then the question is dropped.
Question 2 – How is UPSC involved for those coming from previous areas?
The UPSC chairman said that there is no other exam as the Fair as UPSC. This is also the most invoice. There is emphasis on giving equal opportunity to everyone. No one knows its background at the time of evaluation of any candidate. More than 80% of E -Aspirants Tier 2, 3 cities applying for UPSC exams come from 3 cities.
Question 3 – How can UPSC clear without coaching?
The syllabus of UPSC is such that coaching is not necessary. I myself cleared UPSC without coaching. Even if I do not take an example of my, every year students clear without coaching exams. Coaching is not necessary for UPSC.
Question 4 – How will UPSC deal with cheating cases like Pooja Khedkar?
We are absolutely clear on this subject. We adopt a policy of zero tolerance for any kind of cheating. We take action under law against the candidates who are found cheating. Criminal FIR is for criminal cheating and the criminal action runs. For further, we will use technology to control such things.
