SBI Revises Service Charges to Charge ATM Withdrawals at Rs. 25
In service charges, State Bank of India has announced an another revision in service charges with effect from June 1, 2017. The cash withdraws to ATM will charge Rs. 25 for each transaction. Only RuPay classic card will be issued for free.
Chanda Kochhar Receives Woodrow Wilson Award
ICICI Bank CEO and Managing Director Chanda Kochhar has become the first Indian woman to receive the Woodrow Wilson Award for Global Corporate Citizenship, earlier awarded to the likes of former President APJ Abdul Kalam and Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy.
Kochi Metro Rail Offers Job to Members from Transgender Community
On 11th May 2017, Kochi Metro Rail announced to employ 23 members of the transgender community. This is the first time a government-owned company has formally appointed members of the transgender community. These 23 transgender workers will be a part of the 530 kudmbasree workers to be employed at 11 stations in Kochi Metro’s Aluva-Palarivattom corridor.
IT Department Launches New Facility to Link Aadhaar With PAN
The Income Tax Department introduced a new e-facility to link person Aadhaar with a permanent account number PAN. IT Department ordered that both date of birth and gender should be same in Aadhaar and PAN card, to ensure linkage without failure.
India and Russia Agree to Work Jointly in Various Sectors
To attend India-Russia, Inter-Governmental Commission (IRIGC-TEC) meeting the Russian deputy prime minister Rogozin visited New Delhi recently. India and Russia agreed to work closely in various sectors, including security, nuclear energy, and disaster management.
National Technology Day

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Launches e-Krishi Samvad
On the Tuesday Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh Launched e-Krishi Samvad, an online interface, which will provide direct and effective solutions to the problems faced by farmers and stakeholders in the agriculture sector. The Minister launched the e-Krishi Samvad at Krishi Bhawan. The Union Agriculture Minister said people can directly connect to the ICAR website and get the appropriate solutions from the subject matter specialists and institutes through web or SMS.
India to Invest Rs 10, 000 Crore in Deep Sea Mission
On Tuesday official said that to carry out research in oceans India planned to launch a Rs 10,000 crore deep ocean mission in December in a “responsible manner”. Along with India china is also working on the deep sea mission for mining deposits.
SEBI Allows Investors to Buy Mutual Funds via Digital Wallet
Stock Exchange board of India (SEBI) allowed investors to buy mutual fund schemes for up to Rs 50,000 through digital wallets, making it easier for them especially the young generation to purchase these instruments. Mutual Funds(MF) houses or asset management companies (AMCs) have been allowed to provide instant online access facility to resident individual investors in liquid schemes. The move is part of the efforts to promote digital payments in the MFindustry and channelise household savings into the capital market.
