On July 13, the Central Government appointed Dr. Abhijat Sheth as the new chairman of the National Medical Commission i.e. NMC.

- The appointment of Dr. Abhijat will be effective till the completion of four years or 70 years from the date of taking charge.
- Former President Dr. B. N. Will replace Gangadhar, who resigned in October 2024 for health reasons.
- Dr. Abhijat Sheth is an experienced cardiothoresic surgeon who has experience working in India and Britain.
- She is currently the chairman of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Science, NBEMS, who conducts exams like NEET-PG.
- They will continue to play their role in NBEMS till the NEET-PG 2025 event.
2. Yanik Sinner won the title of Wimbledon Open 2025
On July 13, World No.-1 Tennis player Yanik Cinner won the Wimbledon Open 2025 title.
Sinner has won the Wimbledon Open title for the first time.
- He became the first player of Italy to win the Mains Singles title of the Wimbledon Championship.
- He defeated Spain’s Carlos Alkaraj in the match that lasted 3 hours 4 minutes at the Center Court of All England Club in London.
- With this victory, Sinner also paid the account of the French Open title of June 8, in which Alkaraj defeated Sinner.
- Earlier on Saturday, July 12, Iga Swatek of Poland won the Women’s Singles title of Wimbledon.
- IGA defeated America’s Amanda Anisimova in the final.

Educational qualification:
- MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCH degree
- For Clinical Hematology Department, MD holders can apply in General Medicine or Pediatrics.
Edge Limit:
- Maximum 45 years
- Reserved sections like SC, ST, OBC, PWD will be given age discount according to government rules.
Fees:
- General, Other Backward Classes: Rs 1,500
- SC, ST, EWS: Rs 1,200
- Ex -servicemen, women, disabled people: free
Salary:
- 67,700 rupees per month

1. NEET UG 2025 Counseling Schedule released
The Medical Counseling Committee i.e. MCC officially released the NEET UG 2025 counseling schedule. This counseling is for 15% All India Kota (AIQ) seats for admission in MBBS, BDS, and BSC nursing courses. This will fill medical seats of institutes like Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AIIMS and AFMC.
Candidates can check the schedule by visiting the official website mxc.nic.in. This time there will be a total of four rounds in counseling. In addition to three rounds, if the seats remain vacant, a special street vacancy round will be held.
The registration process for the first round will run from July 21 to July 28. At the same time, the seat allotment will be from August 2.
2. Himachal Board released datesheet for 10th and 12th compartment exams
Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education i.e. HPBOSE released the date sheet for the Class 10th and Class 12 compartment examinations for the academic session 2024-25. The HP Board 10th Compartment Exam will be held on July 22 to July 29 from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm. At the same time, the 12th compartment exam will be held from 22 to 28 July.
