2. Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren passed away
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Shibu Soren passed away on 4 August.
81 -year -old Soren Brain, popularly known as Dishom Guruji, was on life support.
- On his death, the Jharkhand government has declared a 3 -day state mourning.
- Shibu Soren was the founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
- He was a coal minister during the first term of UPA.
- He was the CM of Jharkhand 3 times during 2005 to 2010.

1. IIT is making an eye ‘Human Library’
IIT Palkkar is going to make its first ‘Human Library’ in its campus. This human library will not have books but humans.
Students will talk to them and know their experience. The library will consist of people from different casts, classes, gender, nasal, oxuation and disability.
A IIT official says that the project is inspired by Denmark’s Human Libraries. It can be started in January or February next year.
2. Protests against SSC exam continue
For the last 1 week, students and teachers across the country have been protesting against the SSC exam. On social media too, hashtags such as #SSCMISANAGEMENT, #SSCSYSTEMSUDHARO and #SSCvendorfailure are trending in millions.
This protest is going on due to Missamnament and Technical Issues in SSC i.e. Staff Selection Commission’s selection post Phase-13 exam.
On 31 July, thousands of students and teachers, including people like Neetu Singh, Rakesh Yadav and Abhinay Sharma, gathered outside the Jantar Mantar and Department of Personal and Training (DOPT) office under the ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement.
The protesters were making their demands peacefully, but the Delhi Police tried to disperse the crowd. There were alleged lathicharge and custody incidents.
