1. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated ‘North-East Conclave’
On July 11, Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the ‘IIACA North-East Conclave 2025’.
The two-day event of ‘IICA North-East Conclave 2025’ is being held at the Indian Institute of Management i.e. IIM Shillong.
- The theme of ‘IICA North-East Conclave 2025’ is ‘From Ideation to Incorporation’.
- Its purpose is to promote startups and entrepreneurship ecosystems in the North-East region.
- During this, Sitharaman laid the foundation stone of IICA North-East Regional Campus in Shillong.
- The conclave has an exhibition of 39 startups, FOPos, financial institutions and incubators.
2. Ireland’s Curtis Cander first Mail cricketer to take five consecutive wickets
On July 10, Ireland all -rounder Curtis Cover, became the first mail cricketer to take five wickets in five balls in professional cricket.
Curtis Cover has played 7 Tests, 43 ODIs and 61 T20 matches for Ireland.
- He achieved this achievement in the Inter-Privinial T20 Trophy.
- He was playing a match for Munter Reds against North-West Warriors in Dublin.
- Due to this, Munter won the match by 100 runs.
- Zimbabwe’s female all -rounder Kelis Nadhlovu is the first player to achieve this feat.
- Kelis took five wickets in five consecutive balls during the domestic Under-19 T20 match against Eagles Women in 2024.

1. Kerala schools started U-size seating arrangements
The schools in Kerala have introduced a new seating system to eliminate the concept of backbenchers. In this, instead of traditional straight rows, U-size or semicircular seating system is now being adopted in classrooms.
A primary level class in RVV HSS of Walkom, Kollam.
With this, no student sits ‘back’ and all stay at the same distance from the teacher. Its purpose is to promote equality, participation and confidence among all students in the classroom. The model is inspired by Vinesh Vishwanath, directed by the first film location Srikuttan, which depicts similar seating arrangements in the climax.
2. Now UP Board will be 10th-12th Compartment Exam on 26 July
The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council (UPMSP) has changed the dates of the 10th and 12th board compartments i.e. improvement exam 2025. Earlier, the compartment exam was to be organized on 19 July by UPMSP, which will now be conducted on 26 July.
The examination of both classes will be on the same day. The 10th exam will be from 8:30 am to 11:45 pm and class 12th exam will be from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
The information about the change in compartment exam dates by the board has been shared on the official website upmsp.edu.in.
