1. PM Modi attended the 17th BRICS Summit
On 6 July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 17th BRICS summit.

The BRICS Summit is being held at Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Brazil.
- During this period, BRICS member countries released a joint manifesto of 31 pages and 126 points.
- It condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the Israeli attack on Iran.
- BRICS is a group of countries with 11 major emerging economies.
- These include Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
- Its purpose is to promote economic, political and social cooperation among these countries. It initially had 4 countries, called BRIC.
- The name was given in 2001 by Jim O’Neill, economist of Goldman Sachs.

2. ICC appointed Sanjog Gupta as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
On July 7, the International Cricket Council i.e. ICC appointed Sanjog Gupta as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Sanjog will be the 7th CEO in the history of ICC.
- This selection has happened at a time when the cricket is moving towards the Olympics.
- ICC Chairman Jai Shah announced this.
- The ICC board unanimously chose Sanjog Gupta.
- Sanjog Gupta currently has a Sports and Live Experience CEO in Jio Star.
- He has more than 20 years of experience in this field.
- Sanjog started his career as a journalist.
- In 2010, he joined Star India. In 2020, Disney Star became sports head.
- In 2024, Jio Star became CEO after Vikam-18 and Disney Star merger.

- Degree of BPerma, Defarma
- 2 year work experience
- Knowledge of Hindi and English
Edge Limit:
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 35 years
- Age relaxation will be applicable as per rules.

1. IBPS made changes in the pattern of PO exam
The Institute of Banking Personal Selection ie IBPS has made changes in the pattern of Probationary Officer (PO) Prelims and Mains Exams this year. The weightage of the Reasoning Ability section of the prelims has been increased from 30 points to 40 compared to the previous year. At the same time, the weightage of quantitative aptitude has been reduced from 35 to 30. However, there has been no change in 30 questions of English.
At the same time, the men’s exam had the first 155 questions, now there will be 145 objective questions. In Mains, 40 questions of 60 marks from Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, 35 questions of 50 marks from General/Economy/Banking Awareness, 35 questions of 40 marks in English and 35 questions of 50 marks from data analysis and interpreting will also be asked.
The total marks for men will be 225 for men, combining 25 marks of the descriptive section.
2. UGC NET June 2025 Exam Provisional Answer
The National Testing Agency i.e. NTA has released provisional answer for the UGC Net June 2025 examination. Candidates can go to the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in and look at the provisional answer.
Candidates who have any problem with UGC NET can register their objections by 5 pm on July 8. Candidates can register their objections by paying non -refundable fees of Rs 200 per question. Transaction fees can be paid from credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI.
NTA conducted the UGC Net June 2025 exam from 25 to 29 June in a computer based test i.e. CBT mode for 85 subjects.
