On July 15, four Astronauts including Shubhanshu Shukla returned to Earth after 20 days in space.

2. External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar attended the meeting of SCO’s Foreign Ministers
On July 15, Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar attended the meeting of the SCO’s Foreign Ministers.
This year, a meeting of SCO’s foreign ministers is being held in Tianjin, China.
- At the SCO meeting, the organization’s member countries discussed the necessary regional and international issues.
- Currently there are ten member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, including India, China, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus.
- Earlier, Dr. Jaishankar met Chinese President Xi Jinping and discussed bilateral relations
- This was the Foreign Minister’s first visit to China after five years, which took place after the 2020 Galwan struggle in India-China relations.
3. Appointment of new governors in LG and Haryana-Goa in Ladakh
On 14 July, President Draupadi Murmu appointed the Governor of Haryana and Goa and the Ladakh Governor of Ladakh.
- Former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Kavinder Gupta was appointed as the Lt. Governor of Union Territory Ladakh.
- Kavinder replaced the retired brigadier Dr. BD Mishra from LG Post after his resignation.
- Former Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju was appointed as the Governor of Goa.
- Ashok is the 20th Governor of Goa and replaced PS Sreedharan Pillai.
- At the same time, Senior BJP leader of West Bengal Professor Ashim Kumar Ghosh was appointed as the Governor of Haryana.
- Ghosh has been made the 19th Governor of the state of Haryana.
- Earlier, Bandaru Dattatreya was the Governor of Haryana.

1. UPSC released the Civil Service Mains Exam 2025 schedule
On July 15, Union Public Service Commission i.e. UPSC released the schedule of Civil Service Mains Exam 2025. Accordingly, the Mains exam will be held from 22 to 31 August.
Candidates who have cleared prelims can check the PDF of the exam schedule by visiting UPSC official website upsc.gov.in.
The UPSC CSE Prelims Exam was held on 25 May, whose result was declared on 11 June. It qualified about 14,161 students.
This year, UPSC is conducting the Civil Service Examination for recruitment to 979 posts.
2. NEET UG results of 75 students of Indore released
On July 14, the National Testing Agency i.e. NTA released the result of NEET UG 2025 of 75 students of Indore. These students had demanded the court to conduct a reigns at the center on the day of exam, complaining of thunderstorms and darkness.
The Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed the petitions of more than 75 students who re -conducted the NEET UG exam. The court gave its verdict, approved the writ appeal of the examination agency NTA. While delivering the verdict, the court quashed its 23 June order, in which it was directed to conduct references for these students.
The NTA stopped the result of 75 students and released the remaining result on 14 June. Now the process of counseling may start from July 21.
