- 8th Graders Brutally Beaten By Hostel Monitor Parents Complained

A surprising incident has come to light from Palghar district of Maharashtra. Here, 12 children of Class 8 were beaten severely with a stick by a 21-year-old hostel monitor for not cleaning the toilet.
According to reports, the name of the accused is Gangaram Pathara. On Friday, he was arrested by the police and sent to police custody for two days. He was an old student of this school, but was currently studying in a nearby training institute. He was allowed to stay in the school hostel and act as a monitor.
Beating for not cleaning toilet properly
The incident came to light when some children told their peers that the monitor beat them up because they had not cleaned the toilet properly.
These 12 children study in a private tribal residential school located in Talasari area of Palghar. His parents are extremely angry and shocked by this incident. They are raising questions that-
- Why were children asked to clean toilets?
- Who allowed an alumnus to become a monitor?
- And why didn’t the school teachers or hostel staff stop this violence?
Meanwhile, another sad news has come from Palghar itself. Two minor students, aged 14 and 15, allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves at an Ashram school in Vada taluka on the night of October 8.
Both studied in class ninth and tenth and were residents of the same village, Mokhada. There is panic in the local community due to his death. The reason for suicide is not clear yet.
