1. Ban on 25 OTT platform serving adult content On 25 July, the central government has banned 25 OTT platforms serving adult content.
- This includes famous platforms such as Ekta Kapoor’s Altt App, ULLU app and Desifils.
- The government has imposed this ban in a total of 4 different sections of IT Act and BNS.
- Earlier, the government banned 18 OTTS in March 2023.
2. Wrestling icon Halk Hogan died at the age of 71
On July 24, Wrestling Icon Halk Hogan passed away.
Halk Hogan’s real name was Terry Jean Bolia.
- He suffered a heart attack at his house in Florida on 24 July.
- Hogan’s wrestling career began in 1977.
- He won the WWE Champion title 6 times.
- He acted in films like Suburban Commando and Most Naini and was also a part of the TV show ‘Hogan Noz Best’.
- He joined more than 25 video games as a character.

1. Recruitment of 3588 posts of BSF Constable
Border Security Force i.e. BSF has recruited 3588 posts of Constable Tradesmen. ITI Diploma holders aged 18 to 25 years can apply for this by 25 August.
Selected candidates will be given salary from 21,700 to 69,100 rupees per month. Candidates can apply by going to rectt.bsf.gov.in.
2. Recruitment in Indian Army under Short Service Commission
The Indian Army has released the recruitment notification under the Short Service Commission on 350 technical posts. Engineering degree holders ranging from 20 to 27 years can apply for this by 22 August.
Selected candidates will be given salary from 56,100 to 1,77,500 rupees per month. Candidates can apply by visiting joinindianarmy.nic.in.

1. Posts of 12 thousand teachers vacant in Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas
The posts of more than 12 thousand teachers are vacant in Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country. Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary gave this information in a written response in the Rajya Sabha.
7,763 posts in Kendriya Vidyalayas while 4,323 teachers in Navodaya Vidyalayas are vacant. The minister said that the vacant posts will be filled under the Continuous Process. However, contract teachers can also be recruited for Temporary Duration.
2. CSIR UGC NET Exam Admit Card released
The National Testing Agency i.e. NTA has issued admit cards of CSIR UGC NET exam. The exam will be in 2 shifts on 28 July. Candidates will have to join the MCQ based test in CBT mode. The admit card can be downloaded by visiting csirnet.nta.ac.in.
