7.97 lakh candidates joined recruitment, 859 posts were recruited
RPSC i.e. Rajasthan Public Service Commission in 2021 recruited a total of 859 posts of Sub-Inspector and Platoon Commander for Rajasthan. In this, 7 lakh 97 thousand candidates applied.
Its written examination was held on 13, 14 and 15 December 2021, in which more than 3 lakh 50 thousand candidates appeared. In this first phase, more than 20 thousand candidates passed. Its next phase of physical tests took place from 12 to 18 February 2022. Whose result came on 11 April 2022. 3291 candidates went for the final interview. The final result of this examination was released on 1 June 2023.
Complaints of paper leaks immediately after examination
Soon after the examination, complaints about the use of paper leaks and dummy candidates came to light. The then Congress government tasked the SOG of Rajasthan Police for investigation.
The SOG investigation revealed paper leaks, use of dummy candidates and collusion of members of RPSC. According to SOG, these papers were leaked from Jaipur and then sold for 15-20 lakh rupees. Former RPSC member Babulal Katara was arrested in 2023 and Ramu Ram Raika in 2024.
This fraud was made an issue in 2023 elections. The BJP government formed SIT for investigation. In 2024, the Rajasthan government formed a cabinet sub-committee to decide or decide not to take the examination.
This committee submitted its report to the High Court in July. The sub-committee headed by Rajasthan Law Minister Jogaram Patel recommended that the examinations should not be canceled as only 68 candidates are involved in it.
Rajasthan High Court canceled complete recruitment
On August 28, 2025, the Rajasthan High Court found major disturbances and forgery in this process. The High Court ordered the cancellation of this recruitment. The decision of the single judge bench was pronounced by Justice Sameer Jain. According to the court, this fraud has contaminated the entire process.
The court said, ‘Security measures such as biometric verification, CCTV monitoring and internet shutdown were either not properly implemented or ignored, which made the fraud easier. It was impossible to separate the real candidates from the candidates who have benefited from corruption. “
The court, in its order, also exempted 2021 candidates from age in the recruitment of 2025, so that they can re -involve this recruitment.
Now this case has reached the Supreme Court, whose next hearing is to be held on 8 October.
