1. Chef
Chef is an expert in cooking. The job of a chef is not only to cook food but he also has to take care of how the food will look, how it will be served and how to keep the taste of the food balanced. How to become- To become a chef, one can do graduation, post graduation or diploma in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts. IHM i.e. Institute of Hotel Management is famous for this.

2. Food Stylist
A professional who presents food in an attractive way for photos and videos is called a food stylist. The job of a food stylist is to make the food look perfect in front of the camera.
How to become- To become a food stylist, you can do diploma or graduation in culinary arts or food styling. Apart from this, you can also start your career by doing its workshops and short courses.

How to become- To become a Food Inspector, you can do BSc in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Dairy Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Home Science or Nutrition from a recognized university. Or B.Tech. Will have to do.
Where will you get a job? Central Government (through FSSAI or UPSC), State Government (through UPPSC, MPPSC, RPSC, BPSC)
Salary- The salary of a Food Inspector can range from Rs 35 thousand per month to Rs 1.2 lakh per month.
4. Culinary Consultant
Culinary consultant is an expert who tells a hotel or food business what, how and why should be done so that customers can get the best experience. Designing the menu of a restaurant or cafe, creating new recipes, providing training, doing food costing and profit analysis, checking quality and providing brand consultancy is the work of a culinary consultant.
How to become- To become a Culinary Consultant, you can do graduation or diploma in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
Where will you get a job? Restaurants, Hotel Chains, FMCG Companies, TV Shows, YouTube Channels
Salary- For this you can earn from Rs 15 thousand to Rs 2 lakh per month. Apart from this, you can earn good profit on project basis also.
5. Catering Manager
The job of a catering manager is to decide what food will be cooked, when it will be cooked, where, when and how it will be served. The catering manager has to do the work of planning, team management and customer handling. Apart from this, it is the job of the catering manager to maintain quality and hygiene and take care of the budget.
How to become- For this you can do graduation or diploma in Catering Management or Hotel Management.

6. Food Technologist

Like creating a new flavour, preparing a healthy snack or improving the packing system, all this is their work.
How to become – For this, you can do graduation or post graduation in Food Technology, Biotechnology or Food Science. Many universities like IIT Kharagpur or Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai are best.
Where will you get a job? Food production companies, packaged food industry, drink or snack brands and research labs.
Salary – The starting salary can be around Rs 20 to 40 thousand per month. As experience increases, the salary can go up to Rs 1 to 2 lakh per month.
7. Quality Control Manager
The job of a quality control manager is to ensure that the food being prepared or packed is safe, clean and of correct quality. They check the entire production process. If something goes wrong, from the quality of the raw material and the method of preparation to the packing, they can stop the production of food right there.
How to become – For this you can study in Food Technology, Biotechnology or Chemistry. Some people can also come into this field by doing diploma courses related to hotel management or food.
Where will you get a job? Food factories, packaged food companies, restaurant chains, drink brands and quality testing labs. Apart from this, one can also get job in the government department ‘Food Safety and Standards Authority of India’ (FSSAI).
Salary – The starting salary is around Rs 30 to 50 thousand per month. After experience, you can earn Rs 1.5 to 3 lakh per month. Whereas in FSSAI the starting salary can range from Rs 40 thousand to Rs 60 thousand.
8. Microbiologist
Microbiologists study microorganisms i.e. small bacteria and viruses present in food. Their job is to see whether there is anything harmful in the food. They also check whether the food is healthy or not. They are experts in research and testing.
How to become – For this one has to do graduation and post graduation in Microbiology, Biology or Food Science. Experience of working in a lab is also necessary.
Where will you get a job? Food testing labs, government health departments, food production companies, drink and dairy industries.
Salary – The starting salary is 18 to 40 thousand rupees per month. With experience, you can get Rs 1 to 2 lakh per month or even more.
9. Dietician/Meal Planner
Dieticians or meal planners are experts who make proper plans for healthy eating. Their job is to understand who should eat, how much and what. Whether you want to lose or gain weight or have any health problem, dieticians prepare the right diet according to nutrition.
How to become – For this you can do degree or diploma in nutrition or health science. Some people also come into this profession from medical or food science.
