1. Nobel to 3 scientists in chemistry for atom structure
Sweden’s Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the Nobel Prize for Chemistry today.
- This year the Nobel Prize for Chemistry has been received by Susumu Kitagawa (Japan), Richard Robson (Australia) and Omar M. Yaghi (America).
- They have created atoms that have large empty parts, from which gas and other chemical substances can easily pass.
- These structures are called metal organic frameworks (MOFs). It contains crystals that have large empty parts.
- The winner will get 11 million Swedish Krona (Rs 10.3 crore), gold medal and certificate.
- If more than one scientist wins, then this prize money is divided between them. The awards will be given in Stockholm on 10 December.
2. PM Modi inaugurated the first phase of Navi Mumbai International Airport
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of Navi Mumbai International Airport on Wednesday. The first phase has a terminal and a runway, it has a capacity of 2 crore passengers annually.
This will be the second international airport in Mumbai.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the application window for the UGC NET December 2025 exam.
