On Monday, the Indore High Court dismissed petitions for re -examination of more than 75 affected students in the case of power failure during NEET UG. The High Court approved the retalial appeal of the National Testing Agency NTA conducting the examination

The order was loaded on the order website in the evening after the High Court approved NTA’s writ appeal. After this, at 6 pm, NTA declared the 75 students, who had stay on the result. Information about this was given to every student on their mail. The council is now expected on 21 July.
Students will appeal in Supreme Court Explain that the NTA appeal in this case was heard on July 10, then the court reserved the verdict. More than 75 affected students of Indore and Ujjain will appeal to the Supreme Court against this decision of the High Court.
The petitioner counsel Mridul Bhatnagar said that the High Court strictly stated in the order that in the event of power failure during such examinations, alternative arrangements should be made by local administration and NTA in every district.
Court said- Committee of experts investigated The court said, Solicitor General Mehta said that the NTA is not taking the matter as an opposing plaintiff. The matter was investigated by constituting a committee of experts before taking any decision against the student.
According to the committee’s opinion, the re -examination request was rejected. In view of this, we do not think this is a suitable case for re -examination of NEET (UG) 2025. Hence, NTA’s writ appeals are accepted.
Students said- many questions are left, less marks were found Tanishka Garg is also among the 75 students affecting the power failure in the NEET-UG examination. He told that in the evening the result on the mail came, the score was low, while the preparation was complete. Father Sachin Garg told that his center was PM Central School. During the examination, she could not attend many questions during the power failure.
The visibility at the center was also not such that he could solve it after reading. If visibility would have been good and power backup would have been better. The same thing was said by Arif Lucknowi with his daughter Aryana. Other students also have other such pains.

In the previous hearing, 75 petitioners on behalf of the students had reiterated the argument that if these students were not given a chance to re-exam, their future would be affected. Advocate Vivek Sharan made his arguments on behalf of more than 20 students who filed petitions after May 3. He had said that the petitions of these students should also be included.
Solicitor General had said- there was a suitable system On behalf of the National Testing Agency, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta of the Government of India presented the side. He had said that 22 lakh students have given the exam. There was a proper arrangement at all the centers. There was also power backup in the centers where there is a power failure.
Mridul Bhatnagar, an advocate of students in the case, said that the fact is not correct in the report presented by NTA. NTA has taken Rs 350 crore in the name of fees. There was not enough alternative to these centers. Physical verification was also not done on the spot. All those arguments were made in the long debate, which have been repeated earlier. The High Court has placed the decision in the case after hearing the reserve for order.
Advocate said- People get upset when AC is closed Advocate Vivek Sharan, while expressing the pain of the students, said that we get upset when the AC is closed. In such a situation, what will be the status of the students if there is a power failure during the examination, it can be estimated. In the case, NTA was asked to provide CCTV footage but did not get it done.
NTA said that when there was electricity, then how did CCTV footage? On this, Advocate Sharan said that it meant lightning, but NTA is ignoring it. Comparing students affected by 22 lakh students is not justified.
It was also argued by the petitioner students’ Advocate that the appeal of NEET’s re-exam was approved last year. Which had 1543 students. In such a situation, the basis of NTA is not good. All the affected students who have filed petitions should be given a chance to re-exam.
The High Court had given a stay on the order to conduct a re-exam Earlier, the High Court had ordered the re-examination of these students, against which NTA has appealed. In the last hearing, the High Court had given a stay on the order to conduct a re-exam. The students had told the court that the examination has been affected due to the power failure. This exam is to be conducted only for 75 students who filed a petition before June 3.
NTA said- not practical to do re-exam Solicitor General Tushar Mehta Virtual was present at the last hearing by the Government of India. He had argued that this time 22 lakh students had appeared in the examination. The result has also been declared on 14 June. In the past, reports of related centers including CCTV footage have been presented by NTA. It is not practical to conduct 75 students again.
The lawyer of the students said- and the students also get benefits On behalf of the petitioner students, Advocate Mridul Bhatnagar told the court that more than 25 petitions are students who are not getting the benefit of re-exams. These students filed a petition after 3 May. These should be considered. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court had heard the issue on July 10, including the remaining petitions.

The judge did this so that the students could guess the real situation in which the students had to take the exam. In the order, the court said, “Despite the fault of the students who appeared in the examination, they were put in an uncomfortable position due to power cuts.”
NTA had argued- there was power backup at centers On June 9, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, panel advocate Rupesh Kumar and Deputy Solicitor General Romesh Dave appeared in Virtual Court on behalf of NTA. He said that the centers where electricity went, had power backup.
Advocate Mridul Bhatnagar denied this on behalf of the student. He told the court that Observer, a center in NTA himself, wrote in the report that many examination centers did not have generators and there was not enough lights. He also demanded the report of the 6 centers of Ujjain in the court, where the examination was disrupted by power cuts.
