In a private school in Maharashtra, students were forbidden to apply tilak on the forehead. After this, Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has issued a notice to the school.

The matter came to light when the parents of the children alleged that the children were forbidden to tie tilak, bindi, bangles, rakhi and kalava inside the school.

Tilak wipe from children’s forehead

Some parents alleged that tilak was forcibly wiped from the foreheads of the children. Along with this, he was also said that such things will be punished on coming to school again with things.

After these complaints, the children’s parents went to local leaders. After this the matter reached the education department of KDMC. On Tuesday, KDMC sent an official notice to the school administration seeking a cleanliness on the ban and punishment implemented by the school. Officials said the matter could be resolved through talks between the school and parents.

A KDMC official said, ‘After receiving the complaints, the department immediately started working. The matter will be resolved as soon as possible and there is no need to pursue it anymore.

School management denied the ban

The school management said that they have not imposed any such ban. The school said that safety of children is most important for them. Efforts are made to maintain an atmosphere of peace and harmony of management, parents and teachers. The school said in a statement, “We have not issued any fatwa.”

Now KDMC is waiting for the detailed reply of the school before taking action.
