A few days ago, a picture of PM Narendra Modi’s UK visit went viral on social media. In this, a female officer is also seen in the black uniform posted under his protection with PM Modi.

These officers are the first women in the security of the Prime Minister, Spg Adaso Kapasa. Adaso is currently serving on deputation in Spg. Prior to this, she was posted in Uttarakhand in the Armed Border Force i.e. SSB.

The SPG i.e. Special Protection Group is responsible for the protection of the Prime Minister of India and former Prime Ministers and their family members under certain circumstances. It is a highly cleaned and train unit.

Its officers have to undergo extremely difficult physical and mental training. Till now the SPG was a completely mail-dominated unit. In such a situation, the entry in this specific force of Adaso Kapasa opens new avenues for women.
