Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Short-Term Employability Program (STEP) on October 8. This scheme has been started in 400 government ITIs and 150 government technical high schools. Under this, skill development will be linked to industry needs, which will also increase employment opportunities.
What will STEP do?
2,500 new training batches will be started under STEP. Of these, 364 batches will be exclusively for women. The 408 batches will focus on new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Electric Vehicles (EV), Solar, and Additive Manufacturing etc.
Application Process:
- official website msbsvet.edu.in Go to.
- Click on ‘Register Here’ link on the homepage.
- Register by entering your name, date of birth, gender etc.
- Enter captcha and click on Register.
- After registration, login with ID and password.
- Fill address, qualification, training details, bank details, work experience etc.
- When all sections are completed, review the profile, ‘Lock Profile Form’ and take a print out.
- Now candidates can search the course from their login and apply.
Who can apply:
- Resident of Maharashtra state.
- At least class 10th or 12th pass.
- ITI Students, Diploma Holders and Engineering Graduates
- 25% seats in every batch are reserved for existing ITI students. While 75% seats are open for other candidates.

- Social Media Influencer Training
- Mobile Repair and Maintenance
According to IANS report, this year 75,000 candidates will be given job ready training. Next year this number will increase to 1 lakh candidates. Training fees will be between Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 per month.
Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, said, ‘Under this programme, a total of 2,506 units will be started in 419 government industrial training institutes (ITIs) and 141 government technical schools in the state. The institute management committees of every district will run these courses at the local level, which will increase local participation and accountability.
