1. PM Modi will attend SCO Summit in China
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will meet on 31 August during the SCO (Shanghai Corporation Organization) Summit to be held in Tianjin city.
The two leaders have a second meeting within a year.
- The two leaders will meet for a second time within a year. The last meeting took place in October 2024.
- After this, it was agreed to resolve the India and China border disputes through dialogue.
- In addition to Jinping in this visit, PM Modi will also meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of several Central Asian countries.
- The SCO Summit is scheduled to meet in China from 31 August to 1 September. Leaders of more than 20 countries are going to participate in it.
2. Approved 4 railway projects in cabinet meeting
The Union Cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday 27 August under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Four railway projects worth Rs 12,328 crore were approved in the meeting.
The Bhagalpur-Jamalpur third line project (53 km) in Bihar will be prepared at a cost of Rs 1,156 crore.
- These include the new Deshpal-Hajipir-Luna and Vayor-Lakhpat railway line at a cost of Rs 2,526 crore in Kutch region of Gujarat.
- Apart from this, the Bhagalpur-Jamalpur Line Project (53 km) in Bihar will be built at a cost of Rs 1,156 crore and the Furcating-New Tinsukia Dabbling Project (194 km) in Assam will cost Rs 3,634 crore.

2. Notification of HOD posts in BPSC continues
The Bihar Public Service Commission has issued a notification for the recruitment of 218 posts of the Department (HOD) in the State Polytechnic/Government Women Polytechnic Institutions of the state. These recruitments will be done for different departments. After the application starts, candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website bpsc.bihar.gov.in.
Educational qualification:
- Bachelor or master degree in the respective field.
- PHD degree.
- Experience in the respective field.
Edge Limit:
- Minimum: 33 years
- Maximum: no age limit
Salary:
1,31,400 rupees per month

Rajasthan High Court canceled SI 2021 recruitment exam
The single bench of Justice Sameer Jain admitted that the recruitment examination paper was leaked, including 5 members of RPSC. The court has ordered the cancellation of the entire recruitment and adding 859 posts to 2025 recruitment.
The state had been protesting for a long time with a complaint of disturbances in 2021 recruitment. The training of selected candidates has also been completed, after which the court has now canceled the recruitment. A petition was filed on 13 August 2024 for cancellation of recruitment. The High Court then refused to cancel the recruitment. The entire recruitment process has been canceled after completion of training in January 2025.
It consisted of 2 members of RPSC, dummy candidates and Jagdish Bishnoi gang.
2. More than 1 lakh youth arrived in Employment Mahakumbh in UP
Employment Mahakumbh was organized by the UP government in Lucknow. The 3-day program was held at the Indira Gandhi Foundation between 25-28 August.
Most of the candidates say that they are not able to know where the job will be available.
- In this fair, 1 lakh youth arrived on the first day but there was chaos in the employment fair.
- The youth complain that there is no hearing here. There is no job, no food system nor drinking.
- In the video seen on social media, youth are also seen sleeping on the streets. They were raising slogans of unemployment hi-hi.
- He also alleges that his CV was taken and thrown into the garbage.
